The activities in a UX design project will vary with the scale and scope, but will typically include the following:

Design and technical feasibility workshop

Our starting point is always your business goals and a thorough understanding of the customer. Following your early stage briefing,  any necessary stakeholder interviews and user needs research we will bring our initial design concepts to a workshop with you to ensure a close fit with your vision and with both business and technical constraints.

Wireframe development

We sketch out, develop and mock-up the basic page layouts. Typically we produce two or three variations for testing.

Visual/user interface design

At this stage we start to create the visuals required for new functionality and key user interaction such as buttons, icons, process feedback and navigation enhancements. Critical to all our design is an emphasis on affordance, ensuring the purpose of all elements is clear to users. Again these are refined through testing.

Prototype development

We are able to produce rapid prototypes with sufficient functionality to test real user experience of proposed designs (using a mix of Axure for speed and flexibility and JavaScript functionality to simulate realistic interactions/behaviours).

Sprint usability testing

At any of the stages of design development, iterative testing with users matching the target audience profile is the key to refining effectiveness. We can deliver fast turnaround without compromising our high quality professional approach to usability testing.

The UCD process enables us to provide design solutions together with evidence of their effectiveness in delivering to the agreed goals. We can help to further evaluate and manage the introduction of the new designs into the live environment through A/B and multivariate testing.
